Macy DeMeulenaere, t-LMFT

Working collaboratively with you to find creative solutions to complex problems is the solution-focused approach I will take as your therapist. I find that identifying strengths, exceptions to the problem, and developing goals for the future is what creates lasting change. In a world that at times feels very unforgiving, I hope to facilitate a therapeutic environment that helps every unique client feel accepted and comfortable with my laid-back and empathetic style.

I have recently graduated from Mount Mercy University (2018) with my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. Before beginning my journey at Insight Therapy Group, I provided care at a psychiatric medical institution for children, where my passion for working with adolescents began. I now enjoy working with this same group, as well as adults, who are experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, suicidal thoughts, and self-harm. I also enjoy working with parents to provide support and assist with parenting techniques.

While using techniques and interventions from evidence-based approaches like solution-focused and cognitive behavioral therapies, I hope to help clients see their problems in a more optimistic light, and know that they have the tools for change, they just need to be discovered.
